HiDay app icon A moment at the end of the day, just for you

HiDay
Hello, today.

Speak or type, and it becomes your diary. It greets you differently each day based on the time and weather — and now reads that greeting aloud in a natural voice. Your entries stay on your phone.

Version 1.1.6 · Available now · iPhone · iPad · Mac · Android

Keep today —
just by saying it.

It doesn't have to be a grand journal entry. Open the app and a greeting that fits the time and weather arrives first; when you feel like it, just say how your day went. Your words become the entry, and that day's weather is saved along with it. An easy daily record you never have to try hard for.

"How was your day? I hope you've been well. If you're up for it, take a moment and leave a word or two."

Three simple things

1

Get a greeting

Open the app and a greeting that fits the time and the weather arrives first, in words and in a voice. Morning or evening, sunny or rainy, and shaped by how your days have been going — a different line each time.

2

Speak or write

Tap "Speak" and your words become text; tap "Write" to type it out. If you pause, it keeps listening, and you can freely edit an entry even after saving. That day's weather is saved too.

3

Look back

"One year ago today" shows what you wrote on this day before. You can also search your past entries. A day you'd forgotten quietly comes back.

Now read aloud
in a natural voice.

Your daily greeting is now spoken in a warm, lifelike natural voice — not a robotic one. It's free, with no extra cost.

Free · Choose your voice

A natural spoken greeting

In Settings you can pick the voice you like and preview it. To read the greeting, only that greeting sentence is briefly sent to a voice server — your diary entries are never sent. With no connection, it gently falls back to your phone's built-in voice.

Small touches that
make it feel warmer.

🌤️

With that day's weather

When you save an entry, the weather and temperature of that moment are saved with it. Later, the air of that day comes back too.

🖼️

Calm background photos

Gentle scenery drifts in the background. Seven photos come built in, and you can add your own.

👆

App lock

Lock the app with Face ID or your fingerprint. Even if you hand your phone over for a minute, your diary stays hidden.

☁️

On all your devices

An entry written on iPhone carries over to iPad and Mac. Android devices stay in sync with each other.

Your diary is yours.
It doesn't leave.

Nothing is as private as the quiet thoughts of your day. HiDay simply doesn't have a company server to receive them. No jargon — the promise is this simple.

Your diary lives only on your phoneEvery entry is stored safely on your own phone. No sign-up, no login.

We don't run a server for itWe never built a server to hold your entries — so there's no way for your diary to end up with us.

Syncing goes only through your own cloudTo read your diary across devices, it travels only through your own iCloud (Apple) or Google Drive (Android). We're not in between.

Lock it once more with a passcode, if you likeWhen syncing to the cloud, you can lock your entries with your own passcode. We don't know it either — so if you forget it, it can't be unlocked. Please keep it somewhere safe.

i

Location for weather stays at the city levelTo show the weather it briefly checks your location, but only down to your city, and it isn't stored. No tracking in the background.

No ads, no hidden data collectionThere's no advertising or usage tracking inside. Delete the app and your entries on the phone go with it.

More detail, in plain words, is in the privacy policy.

Look back on past entries
with AI. (Optional)

This is entirely optional — turn it on only if you'd like. Add your own Google AI key and it switches on, running only with that key. It doesn't pass through our servers. Google's free allowance is more than enough for daily use, and you can get a key in about a minute with just a Google account — no card needed.

🤝

A note from an old friend

It reads your recent entries and offers a fitting word for today. Something like, "You mentioned trouble sleeping lately — how was it today?"

🌱

A short look back

How your week went, what kept coming to mind — summed up in a line, only when you ask.

📖

An old entry, retold

It picks one entry from over a year ago and shares it as a line of remembrance for today. A spring day you'd forgotten suddenly returns.

The basics are free, forever.

Common questions

Do I have to write every day?

Not at all. A single line one day, a whole week skipped the next — all fine. Leave something only when you feel like it.

How do I choose the voice?

Go to Settings → Sound, turn on Natural voice, and pick the voice you like. It previews right away as you choose. It's free.

Can I write without an internet connection?

Yes. Writing entries works offline. A connection is only needed to fetch the day's weather or to read the greeting in the natural voice — and if it's unavailable, it falls back to your phone's built-in voice.

Can I see the same diary on my other devices?

Yes. iPhone, iPad, and Mac sync through your own iCloud; Android syncs through your own Google Drive. Everything travels only through your own cloud — we're not in between.

What if I forget the diary lock passcode?

The extra lock passcode used when syncing to the cloud is designed so that even we can't see it. So if you forget it, those locked entries can't be unlocked. Please keep it somewhere safe.

Do I have to turn on the AI features?

No — they're completely optional. Without them, the diary, spoken greeting, weather, and search all work as usual. Add your own Google AI key only when you want the AI features.

Is it really free?

The core features are free forever. Only the AI features move to $4.99 a year after a one-month free trial — and if you don't turn them on, the free features simply continue.
