This Privacy Policy describes how the Cockpit AI Server Monitor mobile application ("the App", "we", "our") handles user information on iOS and Android.

Summary

Information You Provide

The App lets you save SSH connection details (hostname, port, username, password, or private key) for Linux servers you choose to manage. This data is stored exclusively on your device in encrypted form using flutter_secure_storage, which is backed by the iOS Keychain on iOS and by EncryptedSharedPreferences + the Android Keystore on Android. We never see, receive, or transmit your server credentials.

Network Connections

When you open a server in the App, an SSH connection is established directly between your device and the server you specified. No proxy or intermediary service operated by us is involved.

Local Storage

The App stores the following on your device only:

You can remove all stored data at any time by deleting the App.

Advertising (Free Tier)

The free version of the App displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device-level information for ad personalization, including:

On iOS, the App requests your tracking permission via the standard iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt on first launch. You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. ATT does not exist on Android; advertising identifier usage on Android is governed by the system-wide Ads ID setting in your device's Google account preferences.

For details on AdMob's data practices, see Google's Privacy Policy. Pro users do not see advertisements and the AdMob SDK is not initialized for Pro users.

AI Diagnostics (v1.2.0+, optional feature)

Starting in v1.2.0 the App includes an optional AI Diagnostics feature. The user configures an OpenAI-compatible API endpoint — for example, their own self-hosted Ollama or LM Studio instance, or a cloud service like OpenAI, OpenRouter, etc. — and grants explicit consent (a four-checkbox screen) before the feature unlocks.

When the user triggers an analysis, the App:

Log content may contain sensitive information (IP addresses, user identifiers, session tokens, query parameters, file paths). How that data is handled afterwards depends entirely on the policy of whoever operates the AI endpoint the user chose. For users running Ollama or LM Studio on their own hardware, the data stays on their own network. For users targeting a cloud LLM provider, the provider's privacy policy applies. The App makes no claim or control over either path.

The user is solely responsible for choosing a suitable AI endpoint, for reviewing AI suggestions before acting on them, and for any outcome (data loss, service downtime, security incidents) arising from executing commands or applying configurations the AI proposes. The App requires a two-stage confirmation (with a "use a desktop instead" recommendation) before any AI-suggested command can be executed on the phone, and blocks a set of recognized dangerous patterns from on-phone execution entirely.

Free Trial and In-App Purchases

On first launch, all users receive a 30-day free trial during which every Pro feature is unlocked without payment. The trial is granted entirely on-device by recording the install date locally; no account is created, no payment method is requested, and no data is sent to us or to the app store. After the trial ends, Pro features revert to the standard free tier limits unless an upgrade is purchased.

The App offers Pro tier upgrades (monthly subscription, yearly subscription, or one-time lifetime purchase) through the standard Apple App Store / Google Play Store. Purchase processing is handled entirely by Apple/Google — we do not receive your payment details.

Notifications

If you are a Pro user and enable alerts, the App may send local notifications when CPU, memory, or disk usage on your servers exceeds thresholds you configure. Threshold checks happen on your device using SSH connections to your own servers; no alert data is sent to us.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by system administrators and developers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be indicated through an updated revision date.
